abstract A vegetable extract contg. cosmetic emulsion used during and after sunbathing, to protect skin, calm inflammation, and heal burns due to prolonged exposure to sun, comprises 2-25% of extracts of Flos Millefolic, Flos Calendulae, Herba Meliloti in a 2:1:1 ratio. The base consists of 15-20% liquid paraffin, 1-2% lanolin, 1-2% Cetyl-alcohol, 1-3 stearic-acid, 3-5% emulsifier, 1% tri-ethanol-amine, 5-10% propylene-glycol, to which 1% 'Anestherin' is added; 0.5% preservative, 0.001% colourant, 0.4% scent and water. The emulsion is of oil in water type of yellow-green colour. The first prepn. of pH 5-3.5 contains max. 70% water and volatile matter and a min. of 25% oil phase.
