abstract The process comprises extraction, based on less than 0.06 percent Pd content of material, on a support of alumina soluble in inorganic acids. The extraction uses a soln. of ammonium salts in the presence of oxygen, followed by redn. of the Pd by hydrazine hydrate. The resulting palladium black is filtered, washed and dried to give pure palladium black.
