titleOfInvention METHOD OF GENERAL ANESTHESIA
abstract To induce general anaesthesia, 5 mls. each of an anaesthetic are given intra muscularly followed by intravenous injection. 5 mls. of this aq. soln. contain: 0.010 g. noramino-phenazone, 0.010 g. phyto-phenone and 0.10 mg. phenpypromid-bromoethylate together with thio-barbiturate as a hypnotic agent at 5 mg/kg. body wt. and with succinyl-choline as myo-relaxant at 1.5 mg/kg. body wt. Anaesthesia is sustained with 5 mls. of the above soln. in 250 mls. of isotonic glucose soln. This is perfused at a rate of 40-100 drops with added phentanyl at 0.010-0.020 mg/kg. body wt. dose or pethidine at 1-2 mg/kg. body wt. Curarisation is carried out with pancuron at 0.6-0.8 mg/kg. body wt. as a myo-relaxant and a nitrous oxide/oxygen mixt. is used for ventilating.
