abstract The invention provides a process for the preparation of azodicarboxamide by the oxidation reaction of hydrazodicarboxamide with sodium dichromate in the presence of bromine and sulfuric acid using certain molar ratios between the reactants and operating at temperatures between 10 and 25 degrees C at time of contact between 1 and 6 hours at atmospheric pressure.
