abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of phosphorodithioates of general formula I wherein R is an alkyl group of 4 to 8 carbon atoms or branched or cycloalkyl of 5 to 8 carbon atoms, R 1 is a straight or branched alkyl group of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R 2 is a C 1-4 alkyl group, which comprises treating a phosphoric acid derivative of the general formula II see formula) wherein R2 has the above significance and Z is an SR1-group in which R1 has the above-mentioned meaning, or a chlorine atom, with an alkali salt of an alkanoyl of general formula III (see formula) wherein R is as defined above, the molar ratio between reactants being 1: 1 when Z is -SR1 and 1: 2 when Z is chloro and R has the same meanings as R1, the reaction being carried out at a temperature between 0 ° C and room temperature, in tetrahydrofuran medium, after which the product is isolated in known manner. |
