titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR OBTAINING METHANOL AND HIGH ALCOHOL MIXTURES
abstract The invention relates to a process for obtaining mixtures of methanol and higher alcohols by reacting hydrogen with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst having a molar ratio of zinc to chromium calculated as oxides of from 5: 1 to 1: 1 and alkali metals, calculated as oxides containing between 0.5 and 5% of the catalyst being reduced before and after the introduction of alkali metals at a temperature not exceeding 350 degrees C.
