titleOfInvention KIT AND METHOD OF USE FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF AMBROSIA ALLERGY
abstract The invention relates to a kit and a method for using it for the diagnosis of ragweed pollen allergy. The kit according to the invention comprises 11 recombinant allergens, namely Amb a 1,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11 and Amb a 12, expressed and purified in E-coli host systems and Sf9 insects, implemented in the ELISA technique. The method according to the invention consists in that the recombinant allergens to ragweed pollen are attached to the surface of the wells of an ELISA plate in which the serum of the alleged allergic patient is tested compared to a non-allergic person, using a serum-free buffer to assess IgE reactivity by the appearance of the color measured with a spectrophotometer, displayed as optical density, (OD), so that, by interpreting the results, the molecular allergenic profile of the patient and the possible cross-reactivity for the purpose of allergological diagnosis are identified.
