abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the production by fermentation of a polysaccharide grown on 5% sugar sucrose standardized sucrose extracts without the addition of mineral salts or yeast extract with applications in tissue and repair engineering, skin regeneration or wounding and for the reconstruction of adipose tissue. The process involves the treatment of dermal and adipogenic progenitors with a solution of gram-negative bacteria (levan) produced by Gram negative bacteria, growth on solid and liquid media, in the absence of mineral salts or growth factors, the effect of the treatment being monitored by analysis of the tissue metalloproteinase profile, adhesion and cell proliferation assays as well as adipogenic differentiation by specific techniques such as zenithine gel, phase contrast microscopy, fluorescence analysis and spectrophotometry. |
