abstract The invention relates to functionalized magnetic nanoparticles used for diagnosing and treating cancer and to a process for obtaining the same. According to the invention, the nanoparticles consist of a magnetic core and a polypyrrolic cover whereon there are grafted glucidic units. As claimed by the invention, the process consists in covalently attaching some carbohydrates to the pyrrolic ring which is then polymerized on the surface of the magnetic nanoparticles.
