The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition having a prolonged release of trimetazidine, and to a process for the preparation thereof, used for the treatment of angina pectoris, coronary arrhythmias, and dizziness of vascular origin. The composition according to the invention consists of a neutral core, an internal phase comprising trimetazidine and a binder, an outer layer comprising a delaying agent, an anti-caking agent and a plasticizer. According to the invention, the process consists of the neutral core coat successively with trimetazidine and a binder, then with a delaying agent, a plasticizer and an agglomerate, after which the resulting minigranules are conditioned to obtain the dissolution profile of trimetazidine, which provides a therapeutically effective plasma concentration. |
