titleOfInvention METHOD OF IDENTIFYING EYE SKIN ELEMENTS BY DYNAMIC MECHANICAL ANALYSIS
abstract The invention relates to a method for authenticating the elements of old leather and identifying the fakes of new leather. According to the invention, the method consists in heating the leather sample from the room temperature up to 230...280°C, with a rate of heating of 0.5...10°C/min while recording the values of the elastic modulus and observing the curve of the elastic modulus function which has an initial value of 100 MPa, an increase by 5...30% in the range of temperature between 40...100°C due to the loss of physically bounded water, and a decrease of over 50% within the temperature range of 200...250°C, due to the fusion of crystalline regions of collagen for the old leather and an important increase of the elastic modulus at a temperature of over 200°C.
