The invention relates to a process for the removal of acetylenes and 1,2-butadiene from the hydrocarbon streams used as starting materials in the chemical industry. According to the invention, the process consists in supplying the hydrogen and the C4 hydrocarbon stream comprising 1,2-butadiene and acetylenes to a distillation column reactor containing a hydrogenation catalyst bed simultaneously bringing the hydrocarbon stream into contact with hydrogen, in the presence of the hydrogenation catalyst and fractional distillation of the reaction mixture to remove the heavier fractions and a peak fraction which substantially comprises all C4 compounds having a low acetylene content and 1,2-butadiene . |
