abstract The invention relates to a method for inhibiting the fertilization of an oocyte used in medical treatment. The method according to the invention comprises administering an inhibitory amount of fertility in the range of 0.01 to 1 mg of an antiprogestin to an ovulating mammal at least once during the menstrual cycle, orally or by depot or intravaginally or parenterally , and the amount is insufficient either to prevent ovulation or to interfere with the regularity of the mammalian ovarian cycle.
