abstract The present invention relates to a processnwe manufacture resorcinates by alkaline melting of methexnzendisulfoneylnof sodium, the result of the neutralization of the acidic acid, the benzendisulfonic acid obtainednbenzene sulphate, in which the de-neutralization phase ofnmetabenzendisulfonic acid occurs in the circuitnclosed, in a single phase, concomitantly with the decompositionnof the resulting sodium resorcinatenalkaline melting. Thus, methylmetabenzendisulfonic acidnis neutralized with the alkaline solution of resorcinatensodium resulting from the dissolution of the alkaline meltsnand containing about 20.4% resorcinated bynsodium and 14% sodium hydroxide and resorcinate ofnsodium is decomposed by the acid solution, resulting innfollowing the dissolution in water of the obtained reaction massnby disulfonating benzene, containing approxn64.9% metabenzendisulfonic acid and 35.1% acidnsulfuric.
