abstract A method is described for reducing the in vivo effect, exerted on an animal or a plant, of an infection with an organism which has a ribozyme with biological activity. The method involves providing a compound based on a nucleic acid or on an amino acid which interacts specifically with the ribozyme. The compound based on the nucleic acid or on the amino acid is then introduced into the animal, in a form which allows contact of the compound based on the nucleic acid or amino acid with the ribozyme, through which the biological activity of the ribozyme is reduced or eliminated.
