| abstract | An elastic tape 20 for clothing, including a strip of elastic material 22 located on the outer face of the clothing, the elastic 22 being covered with a band of covering material 21. The invention also relates to a method for the connection of an elastic tape 20 for clothing, which comprises the operations of supplying clothing material 24 to a sewing machine in order to be sewn, of folding a first band of material 21 around a strip of elastic material 23, and of supplying the strip of material 21 and the strip of elastic material 23 above the said clothing material 24 as far as the sewing point of the sewing machine, and then the sewing of all these materials together. The method also includes an operation of folding and supplying a second band of material 22 to the lower part of the clothing material 24. The invention also relates to an apparatus for the connection of an elastic tape 20 to a garment 24, consisting of an electronic distribution unit 200 for supplying a strip of elastic material, a folding device 100 for folding a first band of material 21 around the strip of elastic material 23, and a guide for guiding the clothing material, the elastic material and the band of material as far as the sewing point "Y" of a sewing machine "Z". The apparatus also includes a folding device 110 for folding and guiding a second band of material 24 as far as the sewing point of the sewing machine. |
