abstract |
There was isolated and purified a N< alpha >-acetyltransferase with a molecular weight of about 180,000 daltons which is composed of two subunit peptides having molecular weights of about 95,000 each, having high enzyme activity. The gene coding for this enzyme was isolated and sequenced. It can be incorporated into recombinant DNA molecules and expression vehicles for transforming cells, especially plant cells. These cells can be cultivated to plants having an enhanced acetylation capability. |
