abstract | 10-Bromovincamine (I) and its acid addn. salts and 10-bormo-epivincamine are new, in optically active or racemic form. (I) is a psychostimulant and agent for increasing vigilance. It may be used for treating cerebral insuficciency at a daily dose of 10-50 mg. In an example, (3S, 14S, 16S)-(I) was prepd. from vincadifformine via the novel intermediates 15-bromo-vincadifformine and methyl 5-bromo-1,2-didehydro-3-hydroxy-aspidospermidine-3-carboxylate 9-oxide by bromination, reaction with m-chloroperbenzoic acid and heating in presence of PPh3 and acetic acid. |
