THE PRESENT INVENTION CONCERNS THE FORMULATION OF FOOD OILS SUPPLEMENTED WITH BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS, IN PARTICULAR WITH ANTIOXIDANT PROPERTIES, FROM MACROALGAE AND/OR EDIBLE HALOPHYTE PLANTS. AS AN EXAMPLE, THE PARTICULAR CASE OF THE EFFECTS OF ULTRASOUND EXTRACTION OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM LYOPHILLED MACROALGAE PELVETIA CANALICULATA, ADDED DIRECTLY TO SUNFLOWER OIL AT 10% (P10) OR 15% (P15) M/V. RESULTS OBTAINED ARE COMPARED WITH OIL WITHOUT ADDED ALGAE (EB). THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THIS INVENTION ARE (I) TO INCREASE THE USEFUL LIFE OF FOOD OILS AND/OR (II) TO IMPROVE ITS NUTRITIONAL AND ORGANIC CHARACTERISTICS AS WELL AS (III) TO IMPROVE ITS FITNESS FOR ELEMENTS AND TEMPERATURE PROCESSES. |
