abstract The present invention provides a tetramericline salt comprising a tetramericlin and an organic acid in which the organic acid is oxalic acid or malonic acid. Tetracycline is RATHER doxycycline, minocycline, sancycline, limecycline, TETRACYCLINE OR DEMECLOCYCLINE, AND SALTS PREFERRED INCLUDE doxycycline MALEATE, minocycline OXALATE, TETRACYCLINE OXALATE, DEMECLOCYCLINE MALEATE, DEMECLOCYCLINE OXALATE, sancycline MALEATE, limecycline MALEATE OR OXALATE OF LIMEICLIN. A PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION IS ALSO PRESENTED COMPOSING A TETRACYCIN SALT ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION, AS WELL AS A MEDICAL DEVICE COVERED WITH A SALT OR A PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION. A salt is also presented, or an formulation according to the invention for use as a medicament, particularly for use in the treatment or prevention of inflammation and / or an infection. A METHOD OF PREPARING A TETRACYCLINE SALT IS ALSO PRESENTED, WHICH METTODS UNDERSTANDING TO REACT A TETRACYCIN BASE WITH AN EXCESS OF AN ORGANIC ACID IN A SOLVENT.
