abstract | The present invention consists of an analytical method and a device for the determination of the anti-oxidising activity of chemical species based on its response to an oxidative attack on a large scale which is electrically promoted at constant potential. DEPENDING ON THE APPLIED POTENTIAL, THE PROMOTED REACTIONS CAN INVOLVE ELECTRICITY TRANSFER OR ATTACK BY ANODICALLY GENERATED HYDROXYL RADICALS WHEN THE OXIDATION IS PERFORMED IN AQUEOUS MEDIA TO A POTENTIAL IN WHICH THE OXIDATION OF THE WATER OCCURS. THE DEVOLVED DEVICE CONSISTS OF A SYSTEM ESTABLISHED BY AN ANODE THAT CAN OPERATE AS A SOURCE OF HYDROXYL RADICALS AND AS A CHRONOAMPEROMETRIC DETECTOR (A / RS / CD), A VOLTAGE DETECTOR OF ANTIOXIDANTS (VD) AND A REFERENCE (RE) ELECTRODE, WHICH MAY CONSTITUTE A DISPOSABLE DEVICE CONNECTED TO A SECONDARY ELECTRODE (SE), A BATCH OR FLUX CELL WITH TWO COMPARTMENTS AND CONTROLLED SHAKING. THE DEVICE WORKS AUTONOMOUSLY CONNECTED TO A POTENTIATE TYPE CONTROLLING / ACQUISITION SYSTEM, OR COUPLED TO AN ANALYTICAL EQUIPMENT OF THE CHROMATOGRAPHIC TYPE. |
