abstract Pre-germinated rice seed comprising a plant growth regulator is new. Also claimed is the preparation of the rice seed for sowing comprising (a) pre-germinating the seed in water containing no phytoprotection product or plant growth regulator at a temperature and period of time sufficient to produce a radicle of a size that is not damaged in subsequent seed treatment; and (b) mixing the pre-germinated seed with an effective amount of plant growth regulator.
