titleOfInvention | Process for preparing p-dihydroxy benzene disulphonic acid derivatives[gb1419995a] |
abstract | 1419995 Salts of dihydroxy benzene disulphonic acids LABORATORIOS DEL DR ESTEVE SA 3 May 1973 [17 May 1972 26 Jan 1973] 21141/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises novel salts (I) where B is a cation of an alkylamine, alkanolamine, arylamine, alkylarylamine, cyclic amine or an equivalent of an alkaline earth metal. The invention also comprises a process for preparing a p-dihydroxy benzene disulfonic acid which comprises dehydrating a salt of p-dihydroxy benzene monosulfonic acid by heating it in the presence of a liquid forming an azeotrope with water, distilling off the liquid/water azeotrope and sulfonating the residue of the anyhydrous mixture of the salt and solvents. The salts (I) are made by standard methods. Pharmaceutical preparations useful as hemostatic agents and for protecting capillary fragility contain (I) as active ingredient but where B is a cation of any nitrogen-containing base (including ammonia) or an alkali metal or an equivalent of an alkaline earth metal. Administration is orally or parenterally.n[GB1419995A] |
