abstract | Azines of formula:- (where one of R1 and R2 is H the other being linear or branched (cyclo) alkyl of 12C's, hydrocarbon of 6-12C's comprising benzene ring opt. subs. by Cl, F, Br, NO2, MeO gps. (which are inactive in the reaction medium) are prepared by reacting ammonium with a carbonyl deriv. of formula: R1-CO-R2 and H2O2, in the presence of a nitrile of formula R3(-CN)n (where n = 1-6 and R3 is sat. aliphatic, alicyclic or cyclic hydrocarbon of not >12C's, or contains an opt. substd. benzene or pyridine ring (subst. with 1 to 6 grps. which are not oxidised under the condition of the reaction, eg. amido acid, carboxylic ester, nitro, 1 degree-, 2 degrees- and 3 degrees amines, amino-oxide, F, Cl, Br, I, OH, ether-oxide, acetal, epoxy ether, sulphoxide, sulphide, sulphone or sulphonic acid group.n[FR2092734A1] |
