abstract The subject of the invention is a method of obtaining a carrier for the immobilization of living microorganisms, consisting in dissolving xanthan gum in a lithium chloride (LiCl) solution with a concentration of 10-3 M, with a gum to solution ratio in the range of 20-33 g / L, after the mixture is followed by the adipic acid dihydrazide (ADH) crosslinking agent in the amount of 10 g / L (gram / liter of the mixture) and the xanthan gum activator in the form of 1-ethyl-3 [3-dimethylamino] propylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDCl) in the amount of from 20 to 30 g / L, preferably 25 g / L (gram / liter of the mixture) and crosslinked until a cross-linked xanthan gum is obtained, after which it is dialyzed to remove unbound adipic acid dihydrazide (ADH) and 1-ethyl hydrochloride. 3 [3-dimethylamino] propylcarbodiimide (EDCl) and dried up to 70 ° C to remove excess water.
