abstract | The method of obtaining and draining acetone, butanol and ethanol is characterized by the fact that the ABE water mixture or fermentation broth is subjected to membrane distillation in a module with porous hydrophobic membranes, while the permeate is collected on the cooling surface, where the permeate is condensed and the condensate flows to a permeate tank containing about twice the concentration of organic components (ABE) and the permeate obtained as a result of membrane distillation is directed to a tank from which the ABE mixture is directed to distillation to obtain a concentrated ABE mixture or the mixture is directed to vacuum pervaporation modules or thermoperaporation, whereby the permeate after the pervaporation or thermoperaporation process is a mixture of acetone, butanol and ethanol (ABE) with water and is directed to the tank (phase separator) in which the separation into the upper organic phase containing from 60% to 70% ABE and from 30% to 40% water and a lower aqueous phase containing about 80% water and 20% ABE. |
