abstract The subject of the application is illustrated in the drawing, the method of obtaining a quantum dot heterodimer using a bifunctional linker having amine moieties at two opposite ends of the molecule (AminoLinker - AL). This conjugate is intended for use as a standard (positive control) in FCCS (Fluorescence cross-correlation spectroscopy) studies. In this method, an activation mixture is first prepared by adding further reagents to the appropriate buffer at pH 7.0: N- (3-dimethylaminopropyl) -N'-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride - EDC, a suspension of the first type of QDs-1 quantum dots and a linker. The resulting mixture is incubated and the stop reagent is added to it. The mixture is then desalted, fractionated and the AL-QDs-I fraction with the highest concentration is selected based on spectrophotometric studies. A second reaction mixture is then made up: a mixture of the second type quantum dots (QDs-II) of known concentration, EDC and the appropriate buffer at pH 7.0, and incubated. AL-QDs-II is then added, followed by further incubation and stop reagent added. The resulting preparation is divided into fractions from which a fraction containing quantum dot heterodimers is selected.
