abstract The invention relates to new 2-amino-4,6-diphenylbenzene-1,3-dicarbonitrile derivatives of general formula (1), wherein R1 is a substituent of general formula (2) or a substituent of general formula (3). In formulas (2) and (3), R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, methoxy, t-butoxy, nitrile, thiomethoxy, methylsulfonyl group, trifluoromethoxy group. Also disclosed are methods for preparing new 2-amino-4,6-diphenylbenzene-1,3-dicarbonitrile derivatives. They can be used as photosensitizers for cationic, radical and hybrid photopolymerization processes. The application also includes new photosensitizers for photoinitiated cationic polymerization processes and new photoinitiation systems containing: a) an onium salt selected from the group consisting of iodonium and sulfone salts; b) at least one photosensitizer selected from the group of new derivatives of general formula (1).
