abstract The present invention relates to a new derivative with the chemical name 2- [2- (4-phenylpiperazin-1-yl) -2-oxoethyl] -4-hydroxy-3- (4-methylbenzoyl) -2H-1,2 -benzothiazine with analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity and the method of obtaining a new derivative by N-alkylation of 1,1-dioxo-4-hydroxy-3- (4-methylbenzoyl) -2H-1,2-benzothiazine with 1- (2-chloroacetyl) -4-phenylpiperazine in the presence of sodium ethoxide in boiling anhydrous ethanol.
