titleOfInvention A method for producing bis [bis (phosphonomethyl) iminomethyl] phosphinic acid
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of bis [bis (phosphonomethyl) iminomethyl] phosphinic acid of formula 1, intended for use as a complexon and analytical reagent. The method of the invention is that bis (phosphonomethyl) iminomethylphosphinic acid is reacted with at least one mole of formaldehyde and one mole of iminobis (methylphosphonic) acid, and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of 273-373K in water until it reacts substrates, and a bis [bis (phosphonomethyl) iminomethyl] phosphinic acid solution is obtained with a yield of over 85%. Pure acid is isolated by evaporation of volatile components under reduced pressure and crystallization.
