titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of a mixture of 2-methylbutyl esters of higher fatty acids
abstract A method of producing a mixture of 2-methylbutyl esters of higher fatty acids by alcoholysing sunflower oil with 2-methylbutan-1-ol, optionally in a petroleum ether environment in the presence of a biocatalyst in the form of dehydrated and delipidated Mucor circinelloides mold selector mycelium, which is obtained from the Mucor mold strain circinelloides extracted from the natural environment by activation on a sterilized and cooled solid medium containing simple vegetable or animal fat, agar and brewing wort, then washing the spores from this medium and inoculating the sterilized production medium with these spores, conducting a shaken culture, possibly in the presence of polyurethane foam with a fully open cell structure, separation of the obtained mycelium preparation or foam with adsorbed mycelium from the post-culture liquid, from which the foam with adsorbed mycelium is washed with distilled water and dried, and the slow tank, washed with distilled water, washed several times with acetone and dried, is characterized in that the biocatalyst is the mycelium of the mold selector Mucor circinelloides TZA45, which is obtained by culturing on a production medium containing rapeseed oil, corn liquor, tap water and possibly polyurethane foams. The alcoholysis process is carried out in a batch reactor in the presence of free mycelium of the mold selector Mucor circinelloides TZA45, or in the environment of petroleum ether used in excess, preferably in the presence of water, and after the reaction is completed, solid parts of the mycelium are separated from the reaction mixture, or the alcoholysis process is carried out in a reactor column filled with mycelium of the mold selector Mucor circinelloides TZA45 immobilized in polyurethane foam through which petroleum ether is first passed and then, with recirculation, a reaction medium containing oil, alcohol, petroleum ether and preferably water.
