abstract A process to reduce the emission of formaldehyde from film and edging comprises use of an aqueous amino resin mixture (I) for impregnation, containing a linear, branched or cyclic 2-20C amine (A) with at least one prim, sec., or tert. amine group, at least one hydroxyl group as well as an optionally ether modified amino resin (B). Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) an aqueous amino resin mixture (I) whereby the amino resin (B) contains greater than 5% or less than 1% melamine if the amine (A) contains tert. hydroxy alkylamine groups; and (ii) a finishing film or edging prepared by impregnation of paper or card with the aqueous amino resin mixture (I).
