titleOfInvention Reagent useful for synthesis of fluorinated sulfinic or sulfonic acid salts and method of synthesis of fluorinated sulfinic or sulfonic acid salts
abstract 1. The reagent is suitable for the synthesis of the salt of the fluorinated sulfinic acid orn57) sulfonic acid by reaction with sulfur dioxide, characterized in that it consists of:na) a fluorocarboxylic acid selected from compounds of formula 1, X-CF2-n-COOH, where X is halogen and compounds of formula 2, R-G-CF2-COOH, where R-G isnnitrile group or R is halogen atom and G is C = O, S = O or - (CF2) "-,nwhere n is a number greater than or equal to 1, at least in part as a salt with an organic cationnor inorganic, selected from sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium and frans, cationsntetra-alkyl or tetra-aryl-ammonium or -phosphonium in which the hydrocarbon groups haven4-12 carbon atoms andnb) a polar aprotic solvent;nand the fact that the amount of liberating protons that are contained in its various components, nas well as their impurities, it is at most equal to half the original molar concentrationnof said fluorocarboxylic acid.n15. The method of synthesizing the salt of fluorinated sulfinic or sulfonic acid, ncharacterized by the steps of:na) contacting a reagent according to claim 1; 1 with sulfur dioxide andnb) heating the reaction mixture obtained to a temperature comprised between 100 ° Cnand 200 ° C for 1/2 hour to 20 hours to give the fluorinated saltnsulfinic acid, nand then, optionally, in the case of the synthesis of the fluorinated sulfonic acid salt,nc) oxidizing the fluorinated sulfinic acid salt obtained in step b) by contactingnthe product of step b) with an oxidizing agent.
