titleOfInvention | Method of biological wastewater treatment |
abstract | 1. Method of biological treatment of sewage, especially polluted municipal sewagennitrates, consisting in the use of activated sludge in anaerobic conditions, ncharacterized in that the pre-treated sewage polluted with nitrates is polishednby introducing into the bioreactor with active sludge, continuously aeratednbacterial cultures obtained by the multiplication of Thiobacillus denitrifying bacteriandenitrificans isolated from activated sludge on media obtained by solidificationnwith agar of aqueous solutions containing: 25 to 50 mM sodium thiosulfate,n15 to 25 mM potassium nitrate, 15 to 25 mM ammonium chloride, 12 to 18 mM phosphatenmono potassium, 2 to 6 mM magnesium sulfate, 5 to 20 mM monosodium carbonate,n0.05 to 0.10 mM of ferric sulfate) and traces of boric acid, chloridencobalt (II), zinc (II) sulphate, sodium or potassium molybdate, nickel (II) chloridenand copper chloride, and the colonies obtained this way are transferred to a liquid medium containingnglucose, thiosulphates, nitrates, sulphates, phosphates, chlorides as well as citrate and asparagine, nwhile adjusting the pH to a value of about 7, and is mixed with the raw sewage, nand then the mixture prepared in this way is introduced into the bioreactor. |
