titleOfInvention A method of preparing chromium leather waste for utilization, especially for melting gelatin and skin glue
abstract A method of preparing chrome leather waste for disposal, especially for smeltingnof these, gelatin and hide glue, using the tanning process and the processnde-chroming, characterized in that the leather waste is crushed, obtained innAs a result of grinding, the pulp is decangled with a basic substance, nsuch as lime, sodium carbonate, ammonia, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, preferablynmagnesium oxide used in an amount of at least 4% by weight in relation to the weight of the waste, nthen the waste is rinsed and subjected to dechromation with a mineral acid, nsuch as hydrochloric or sulfuric acid, used in an amount of up to 10% by weight of the weightnwaste in the presence of sodium chloride solution, and after separation of the resultantnthe chromium salt is degraded, the waste is hydrolyzed with hydroxidensodium used in an amount of 5-8% by weight based on the weight of the waste over timen6-24 hours at 15-22 ° C and finally the alkaline pulp is neutralized successivelynsodium bicarbonate used in an amount of at least 12.5% by weight by weightnto the mass of waste and after centrifugation, with ammonium chloride used in the amount of up ton5% by weight in relation to the weight of the waste, then the obtained pulp is washed with water and centrifuged.
