abstract A method of simultaneous removal of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide from industrial plantsnwaste gas, in which the removal of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide is carried out inntwo separate, absorbers, connected together in one process linena stream of purified gases, the sulfur dioxide absorption being carried outnaccording to one of the known desulfurization technologies, and the absorption of nitric oxide is performednis a solution containing an active complex of a divalent metal and a compoundnorganic, capable of forming the corresponding chelate, especially Fe (EDTA), characterizednin that the constant presence of an active divalent metal complex in the solutionnabsorbing nitrogen oxides, is maintained by adding to the absorbent solution in stepnregeneration of hydrazine or its derivatives, while nitric oxide bound in the absorption stepnwith the complex compound, preferably in the form of Fe2 + EDTA.NO, is separated from the solutionnby thermal desorption and recirculating the gas phase of the sectionnsulfur dioxide absorption.
