abstract Liquid crystal mixtures containing esters of laterally substituted phenols being at least binary mixtures containing modifiers such as optically active compounds, solvents and dyes, or other known liquid crystal, polar and non-polar compounds, characterized in that at least one component is a compound of general formula 3, where n, m are integers from 1 to 8, X represents a ring or set of rings selected from the group: benzene, trans-cyclohexane, benzene-trans-cyclohexane, trans-cyclohexane-benzene, 2-fluorobenzene trans- cyclohexane, 3-fluorobenzene-trans-cyclohexane, trans-cyclohexane-3-fluorobenzene, trans-cyclohexane-2-fluorobenzene, 1,3-dioxa-2-borane-benzene, dioxa-2-borane-3- fluorobenzene, 1,3-dioxa-2-borane-2-fluorobenzene, and K 1,3-represents a benzene ring or a cyclohexane-3 or trans-cyclohexane ring, where the content of the compound or compounds of formula 3 is in the range of 2-40% by weight of the mixture others and the remainder are modifiers and / or other known liquid crystal compounds.
