abstract The present utility model relates to the process of producing a nutrient medium for in-vitro culture of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) out of oil palm empty bunch. The nutrient medium is produced with the following steps: collecting of palm oil empty bunches from the oil palm farms in the locality; washing of collected palm oil empty bunch with tap water, weighing of palm oil empty bunch; chopping of palm oil empty bunch into small pieces; boiling of chopped oil palm empty bunch with distilled water until produce a broth; mixing of agar and white sugar in a broth; cooking of the mixture until it became sticky; adding distilled water to said sticky mixture to restore 1 liter volume; transferring the mixture into empty bottles plugged with cotton and covered with foil; sterilizing the bottle containing the mixture at 15 psi for 15 minutes; a d dispensing the mixture into petri plates to allow the mixture to solidify producing a culture medium for oyster mushroom.
