A method for producing a hop extract, said method comprising a step for filtering a hop-containing water at 50oC or higher to give a hop extract. By the production method according to the present invention, a hop extract having a high polyphenol concentration can be easily prepared. The hop extract thus produced is appropriately usable as a starting material for agents for neutralizing protein toxins, inhibiting decalcification of dental enamel, controlling body fat, protecting periodontal membrane, inactivating viruses or inhibiting overexpression of thymic stromal lymphopoietin, a symbiotic regenerative agent, an anti-inflammatory agent and compositions for treating and/or ameliorating inflammatory bowel diseases, coronary artery diseases, obesity, hyperuricemia, allergic diseases, digestive diseases, etc. |
