Oxidative dehydrogenation is an alternative to the energetically extensive steam cracking process currently used in the production of olefins from paraffins, but it has not been implemented commercially in part as a consequence of the unstable nature of hydrocarbon / oxygen mixtures. and partially because of the cost involved in the construction of new plants. An oxidative dehydrogenation chemical installation designed to reduce costs that includes the integration of an oxygen separation module and that also addresses safety issues and reduces the emission of greenhouse gases is described. |
