abstract THE COMPOSITION INCLUDES: i) 0.04 g / l TO 1.4 g / l OF COPPER SILICATE; AND, ii) 0.04 g / l TO 1.4 g / l OF ZINC SILICATE, WHICH IS ADAPTED TO THE TOPICAL APPLICATION OR ATOMIZATION. THE METHOD FOR PREPARING THE DESCRIBED COMPOSITION INCLUDES: 1) REACTING A COPPER SALT WITH AN ALKALINE SILICATE IN AN ACID SOLVENT TO PRODUCE AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF ACIDIFIED COPPER SILICATE; 2) REACTING A ZINC SALT WITH AN ALKALINE SILICATE IN AN ACID SOLVENT TO PRODUCE AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF ACIDIFIED ZINC SILICATE; AND, 3) COMBINE THE PRODUCTS (1) AND (2) TO FORM THE COMPOSITION, WHERE THE ACID SOLVENT, WHICH IS A MIXTURE OF ACETIC ACID AND SODIUM ACETATE, CUSHIONS THE MIXTURE OF SALTS AND ALKALINE SILICATE IN A WAY THAT THE SILICATES OF ACIDIFIED COPPER AND ZINC HAVE A pH BETWEEN 2 AND 6. IT ALSO REFERS TO A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MICROBES, SUCH AS BACTERIA OR FUNGI AND PLANT PATHOGENIC AGENTS LIKE Botrytis. spp, WHICH CONSISTS OF APPLYING THE DESCRIBED COMPOSITION ON A PLANT INFECTED BY THE SAME. ALSO, SUCH COMPOSITION IS ALSO ADMINISTERED IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHICH MAY POTENTIALLY CONTAIN SUCH MICROBES IN ORDER TO PREVENT THEIR GROWTH
