THE CATALYST IS PRODUCED BY REACTING THE METALLIC COMPLEX WITH A LEWIS ACID. ALCOHOL DERIVATIVES ARE PRODUCED BY REACTING A CYCLIC ETHER COMPOUND WITH A PHENOL DERIVATIVE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE COMPLEX CATALYST.
