WHICH INCLUDES: a) SEPARATING THE PRESENT SOLID MATERIAL, FROM A CULTURE FOAM OBTAINED THROUGH THE CULTIVATION OF A MICROORGANISM THAT PRODUCES XILITOL, STARTING WITH D-ARABITOL, D-XYLULOSE OR GLUCOSE AS INITIAL CULTIVE MATERIAL; b) DESALINATE THE RESULTING CULTIVATION FOAM, BY REMOVING THE IONIC SUBSTANCES BY MEANS OF CATIONIC AND ANIONIC EXCHANGE RESINS OR BY IONIC EXCLUSION CHROMATOGRAPHY; c) SUBMIT THE RESULTING DESALT SOLUTION TO CHROMATOGRAPHY, USING A STRONGLY ACID CATION EXCHANGE RESIN, IN THE FORM OF Ca, Na or NH3, TO SEPARATE THE XYLITOL FROM THE OTHER SUGAR AND SUGAR ALCOHOLS; AND, d) SEPARATE THE HIGH PURITY XYLITOL, FROM THE RESULTING XYLITOL SOLUTION |
