IT REFERS TO A MIXED BED ION EXCHANGE COMPOSITION THAT INCLUDES: i) AN ABSORBING POLYMER WITH A CATIONIC EXCHANGE, PREPARED FROM ACRYLIC ACID MONOMERS; AND ii) AN ANION EXCHANGE ABSORBING POLYMER, PREPARED FROM A MONOMER SELECTED FROM: ETHYLENIMINE, ALYLAMINE, DIALYLAMINE; AND MIXTURES OF THESE; AND THAT HAS A PRESSURE OPERATING CAPACITY (PUP) IN SYNTHETIC URINE SOLUTION UNDER AN APPLIED LOAD OF 0.7 psi OF AT LEAST APPROXIMATELY 30 g / g AFTER 2 HOURS; DEFINING PUP AS THE ABSORPTION IN g / g OF THE SYNTHETIC URINE SOLUTION BY A LAYER OF 0.032 g / cm² OF THE ABSORBING POLYMER, WHILE IT IS RESTRICTED UNDER A SPECIFIC APPLIED PRESSURE DURING A PARTICULAR PERIOD OF TIME. ALSO THE ION EXCHANGE CAPACITY OF (ii) IS AT LEAST 15 meq / g AND THE ION EXCHANGE CAPACITY OF (i) WHICH FORMS HYDROGEL IS AT LEAST 8 meq / g.
