abstract Disclosed is an Astragalus membranaceus seed extract prepared from Astragalus membranaceus seed which is firstly degreased with petroleum ether, extracted with an alkaline liquor and then treated with an acid to give a precipitate, and then freeze-drying the precipitate, wherein the protein content is as high as 87.0%, and the total amount of amino acids is 78.34 %. The extract can be used as feed additives or food additives, and has functions such as improving human or animal immune and lipid metabolisms.
