titleOfInvention A novel formulation of metaxalone
abstract The present disclosure relates to methods for producing particles of metaxalone using dry milling processes to produce particles of the biologically active material dispersed in an at least partially milled grinding matrix as well as compositions comprising metaxalone, medicaments produced using metaxalone in particulate form and/or compositions, and to methods of treatment of an animal, including man, using a therapeutically effective amount of metaxalone administered by way of said medicaments. wherein the milled metaxalone has a dissolution profile, when tested using USP Apparatus II (paddles) set to rotation speed of 100 RPM in 1000 mL of 0.01 M HCl at pH 2 at 37±0.5°C, of no less than 15% dissolution, by weight, at 60 minutes, when measured under sink conditions.
