titleOfInvention Internal ultrasound gel
abstract The problems solved through the invention are to provide internally and orally compatible ultrasound gels that is specifically approved and labelled for intra-oral applications and is ingestible in small quantities, and the solution of the invention is a gel and kit of the invention. The gist of the solution is: an internal ultrasound gel comprising: water; thickening agent for thickening the water into a gel, the thickening agent comprising a carbomer homopolymer Type B; a neutralizer for setting the gel viscosity and adjusting the pH of the gel; a preservative for preserving the gel; and a stability compound for maintaining gel integrity through stabilization; wherein the gel has an acoustic impedance similar to soft tissue and can be safely used internally or orally.
