| abstract | A door handle assembly (see Fig. 1) is disclosed for easily changing the door handle or faceplate (26). The assembly includes a mounting plate (42) and a link connector (not shown) which passes through an opening (60) in the mounting plate (42) to attach to a door handle. An outer fascia plate (26) surrounds the link connector and covers the mounting plate so it is not visible. The mounting plate (26) is releasably connectible to the mounting plate member by a pair of fastening elements (40, 41) with enlarged heads which engage in keyhole slots in the mounting plate. The fastening elements (40, 41) may be threaded screw fasteners which engage in spigots on the back side of the face plate. |
