Thiosemicarbazone compounds and use in the treatment of cancer |
abstract |
Provided are dipyridylketone thiosemicarbozone compounds of the general formula (I) where R1 is cyclohexyl or ethyl. The compounds include di-2-pyridylketone 4-ethyl-4-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone and di-2-pyridylketone 4-cyclohexyl-4-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone. The compounds are iron chelators. The compounds are useful in the treatment of cancer. |
