abstract Disclosed is a tablet composition comprising: a) 48% to 55% by weight of dalcetrapib (S-[2-([[1-(2-ethylbutyl)-cyclohexyl]-carbonyl]amino)phenyl] 2-methylpropanethioate); b) 24% to 26% by weight of microcrystalline cellulose; c) 11% to 12% by weight of micronised crospovidone; d) 4% to 5% by weight of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose; and e) 4% to 6% by weight of croscarmellose sodium. Also disclosed is a process for the preparation of a dalcetrapib composition comprising the following steps: a) mixing and granulating dalcetrapib, crospovidone micronized, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; b) spraying up to 0.5% by weight of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose in water or in 10% - 30% ethanol by weight/70% - 90% water by weight, onto the granulates obtained according to step a); c) drying the granulates; and d) blending microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide and sodium stearylfumarate with the dry granulates obtained according to step c).
